Apple Cup Giving Challenge

As your Huskies prepare to battle the Cougars on the gridiron, we’re challenging The Cougar Athletic Fund in a head-to-head competition for donor support. The athletic fund with the highest number of gifts wins the challenge. We need the strength of Husky nation to help us beat the Cougs and win the Apple Cup Giving Challenge. Your gift helps give student-athletes an edge in competition, in school and in life. Let's go Dawgs!

112th Apple Cup Challenge: Unlock $10,000

A generous Tyee Board member will unlock $10,000 when we reach 112 gifts! Each gift will represent an Apple Cup (Governor's Trophy game) ever played between the two schools.

1981 Apple Cup Challenge: Unlock an extra $25,000

In 1981, everything was on the line as the winner of the Apple Cup would earn a berth to the Rose Bowl. Ron Jackson ran for 103 yards and a touchdown as UW defeated WSU 23-10. A generous donor will unlock $25,000 when we receive an additional 103 gifts (215 Total).

2002 Apple Cup Challenge: Unlock an extra $25,000

The Huskies entered the 2002 Apple Cup as huge underdogs but came away with a 29-26 triple overtime victory. Cody Pickett’s 48-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Williams set up the game-tying field goal and sent the game into overtime. A generous donor will unlock an additional $25,000 if we hit 48 additional gifts (263 Total).

296 Rushing Yards

Give $296 in honor of Hugh McElhenny's 296 yard rushing record. UW won The 1951 Governor's Trophy 52-21 and McElhenny's rushing performance still stands as the single game Apple Cup record.

526 Yards of Offense

In 2000 The Huskies defeated the Cougars 51-3 in the most lopsided victory in Apple Cup history. Led by quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo, UW's offense racked up 526 yards of total offense. Make a gift of $526 to honor this historic Apple Cup win.
